ICST and continuing educationThe objective of this research theme is to study how ICST (information and communication sciences and technologies), can contribute to the field of continuing education in a professional or private context to be able to meet an increased demand. This demand is justified by several factors - the aging population will soon lead to a need to replace qualified personnel, it is common in today's world to change one's occupation and in a given occupation there are always changes to be adapted to
Initial research programme Research into the best technological choices (platforms, teaching tools, mediatization, type of training - presence-based, distance-learning or mixed). Study the interoperability of the systems and standardization (How can a lesson be transferred from one platform to another? How can one platform integrate teaching resources from different sources?) Research into which specific content is to be developed and in what format (training catalogues, "off-the-shelf" content or content developed in-house). Define teacher training methods (in the widest possible terms to include instructors or trainers in companies and the public sector). Study the development of communities of interests and practices (beyond the usual social, generation and geographical links). Define methods for appraising what has been learnt. Develop a bilingual (or even multilingual) "ICST and continuing education" Web site that will be a benchmark Web site in the field of continuing education (online surveys and studies, a technology watch) whether it be in France or the countries with the greatest needs (developing countries).
